Community Guidelines
A shared standard for keeping the directory respectful, useful, trustworthy, and welcoming.
1. Be Respectful
LocalMuslimBiz is built to help people discover and support Muslim-owned, Muslim-friendly, and community-serving businesses. Treat business owners, visitors, organizers, and other community members with dignity.
Do not post harassment, hate speech, threats, personal attacks, discriminatory remarks, or content intended to shame or target people.
2. Keep Information Accurate
Submit listings, edits, events, deals, questions, and reports in good faith. If you are unsure about a detail, say so rather than presenting it as verified.
Use the Report an Issue page to flag incorrect hours, duplicate listings, broken links, closed businesses, or content that needs review.
3. Business Owner Expectations
- Only claim or manage businesses you are authorized to represent.
- Keep contact details, service areas, business hours, and pricing notes current.
- Do not misrepresent halal status, ownership, affiliations, certifications, services, events, or offers.
- Respond to community questions honestly and professionally.
4. Content Standards
- No spam, scams, malware, deceptive links, fake reviews, or keyword stuffing.
- No private personal information, doxxing, or confidential business information without permission.
- No adult, violent, hateful, exploitative, or illegal content.
- Photos, logos, documents, and copy must be content you own or are allowed to submit.
5. Questions, Answers, and Reviews
Ask questions that help other people make informed decisions. Keep questions specific, fair, and relevant to the listing.
Answers should be clear, useful, and based on real knowledge of the business or service. Reviews and Q&A may be moderated before appearing publicly.
6. Moderation and Enforcement
Admins may edit, hide, decline, or remove content that violates these guidelines or harms the quality of the directory. Repeat or serious violations may lead to account restrictions.
When possible, we prefer corrections over removals. The goal is a directory that is accurate, generous, and useful.
7. Need Help?
If you see a problem, use Report an Issue. For general support, visit the Help Center or Contact Us page.
